The Siesta Key Drum Circle is next on our list of things to do in Siesta Key, Florida. The Siesta Key Drum Circle is a beachside tradition in Siesta key, and it’s something that everyone is encouraged to get involved with.

So what is it? Pretty much exactly what the name says – it’s a celebratory drum circle, that happens on the beach! The Drum circle regulars will perform but are happy for others to get involved too, or simply take a seat and observe! Jet Skiing

How could we write a list of things to do in Siesta Key and not include jet-skiing!? Jet skiing in Siesta Key is a fantastic activity to get involved in, and it’s so much fun! There are a couple of rental places across Siesta Key, but if you’re planning to rent a jet ski at the weekend, we recommend booking ahead if you can, as this is always such a popular activity for visitors!

Jetskiing in Siesta Key is one of the most enjoyable and fun activities you can do in the area, and it’s great for people who want to break up the relaxation with a little burst of adrenaline! It’s such a fun choice for things to do in Siesta Key.

Captain Curt’s Crab & Oyster Bar

If you want a typically ‘Siesta Key’ experience, then we can’t recommend Captain Curt’s Crab & Oyster Bar enough. This place is a favorite with locals and visitors alike, and it’s one of the best ways to try some of the local area’s seafood!

What do we love about this place? It’s not just seafood! There’s also a tiki bar to enjoy and they put live music on too! It’s just a great overall experience! Oh, and don’t forget to try the clam chouder.

Kayaking

Next on our list of things to do in Siesta Key, it’s kayaking! Kayaking is a great activity to get involved in when you visit Siesta Key, and it’s a lovely option for both beginners and experts alike. If you’ve never kayaked before, you could take your first lesson here in Siesta Key!

Don’t worry about driving or flying over with your own kayak though! There’s no need as there are so many rental places in Siesta Key! Overall, we think this really is one of the best things to do in Siesta Key, as it’s a fun outdoorsy activity, but appropriate for a range of experience levels.


Phillippi Estate Park and Edson Keith Mansion

The Phillippi Estate Park and Edson Keith Mansion are actually located in Sarasota, but we wanted to include them in our list of things to do in Siesta Key, as it’s only minutes away in the car.

Phillippi Estate Park is can be found on the shores of Phillippi Creek, and it’s a wonderfully scenic estate, is a scenic estate south of downtown Sarasota and east of Siesta Key. The park itself is full of things to get involved in, such as environmental, recreational, historical and archaeological amenities. If you love exploring historic locations, then we really recommend adding this to your list of things to do in Siesta Key, Florida.


Siesta Key Farmers Market

The Siesta Key Farmers Market is next on our list of things to do in Siesta Key, Florida. We LOVE a farmers market, and the Siesta Key farmers market is no exception! Farmers Markets are a fantastic way to try local produce, explore local distributors and sellers, and also meet some new people!

If you’re stopping in a vacation rental, then stopping by the local Siesta Key farmers market is a great way to stock up on some delicious food to enjoy throughout your trip! This is a great choice for things to do in Siesta Key.


Marie Selby Botanical Gardens

The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are next on our list of things to do in Siesta Key, Florida. Selby Gardens’ Historic Spanish Point campus is the reason most people visit, as this location holds a lot of historical significance.

There is an educational museum onsite which focuses on both local history and plant life in the local area too. Visitors to the The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens can explore ancient peoples, pioneer history, the Palmer Legacy, and native plants. It’s a perfect pick for things to do in Siesta Key.


Legacy Trail

Next on our list of things to do in Siesta Key, it’s the Legacy trail (click here for a map). If you’re an outdoorsy person and enjoy checking out local trails and walking routes, this is definitely one of the best in Siesta Key to try out.

The Legacy Trail connects several local areas, with a beautiful non-motorized 20 mile path (great for walkers and cyclists). It stretches all the way from Palmer Ranch in southern Sarasota to Shamrock Park and Caspersen Beach Park in Venice. It’s a wonderful choice for things to do in Siesta Key, Florida! Another lovely beach area in Siesta Key, Point Of Rocks is a great place to head if you want to see a more rugged coastline (over the white sandy beaches). Another great thing about Point of Rocks in Siesta Key is the snorkelling! This little area is known for being a great spot for shallow snorkelling!
