Owned and operated by the entertainment legend Dolly Parton, Dollywood combines amusement park rides with country music and mountain living. This place is an absolute icon in Pigeon Forge – so don’t miss out!

It’s definitely one of the most well-known things to do in Pigeon Forge, and it’s a huge hit with visitors of all ages. Make sure you hit the park’s most popular rollercoaster, the Thunderhead. A big thrill ride that’s a hit with visitors, it’s an absolute must!

Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge, it’s the Great Smoky Mountain Park. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Pigeon Forge has got to be Great Smoky Mountain National Park, so it needs to make your list of things to do in Pigeon Forge.

Easily accessible and free to enter (so great if you’re on a budget!), it’s the perfect place to come for some great hikes and fantastic natural beauty.

With great views and a serene vibe, you should absolutely check this place out! You can spend the day here exploring and hiking, or just pop by for a picnic or to enjoy the view! It’s definitely one of my favourite things to do in Pigeon Forge.

If you want to take a day tour with a difference, this adventurous tour of the Smoky Mountains is my absolute favourite! You’ll see the mountains in a open-air Pink Jeep Wrangler!

Dollywood’s Splash Country

Next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge, it’s Dollywood’s Splash Country! Due to the area’s mountain elevation, Pigeon Forge doesn’t get quite as hot as other areas of Tennessee, but it can still get warm! Dolly Parton delivers more than just a theme park in this area, and created a waterpark too!

Boasting 23 different rides and slides, it’s the perfect spot for a cool down on hot summer days in Pigeon Forge, and it’s an amazing option for families with kids!

If you’re looking some things to do in Pigeon Forge in the summertime, then this is such a great option. I don’t know if you can have more fun than a waterpark on a hot summer day.


Horseback riding

Next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge, it’s horseback riding. Due to the nature of Pigeon Forge, horseback riding is a fantastic way to see the area, and it’s such a relaxing and scenic way to explore the surrounding nature and landscapes.

With more than 500 acres of trails to explore, what better way to do so than to mount a noble steed? You can also do tours on horseback, if you want a slightly more guided horseback experience. This is a really unique things to do in Pigeon Forge, so it’s definitely one to add to your list.

Wonderworks

This spot is one for the kids, so if you have children this might be one to add to your list of things to do in Pigeon Forge.

There are plenty of activities in Wonderworks geared towards children, so they’re bound to have a great time. WonderWorks however is designed to be enjoyed by everyone, so don’t worry if you don’t have kids – there’s plenty for adults too!

An indoor amusement park that’s focused on edu-tainment (it’s not all fun and games- you’ll learn something too!) it holds more than 100 hands-on exhibits that challenge the mind and spark the imagination.

Including a disaster zone where you can feel what it may be like to live through a major hurricane or earthquake, it’s great for thrill-seekers too!

Next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge, it’s the Escape Room. Escape rooms have been popular for a while now, and Pigeon Forge certainly hasn’t missed the boat.

Here you can work together with friends and family to solve themed riddles and get out of the room. A super interactive family day out, it’s a great way to test your knowledge (and your patience!). This is such a great choice for things to do in Pigeon Forge.

Next up on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge – it’s Big Top Arcade. A favourite arcade amongst locals and visitors, Big Top Arcade is a fantastic place to go to awaken your inner child. Located off the Parkway, it’s the perfect place to visit when the weather isn’t in your favour.


Goats on the Roof

If you’re looking for quirky things to do in Pigeon Forge – then the goats on the roof is a must! A goat-feeding shopping attraction, Goats on the Roof is a bizarre, yet fabulous place for a family day out. With goats roaming around on the rooftop, you’ll get your fill of nature whilst filling up on some delicious ice cream and fudge. A win-win, really. Bizarre, but definitely a top option for things to do in Pigeon Forge.

Sure, you could come here and just shop for souvenirs and snacks. You can ride the roller coast or eat fudge and ice cream (what else would you eat on vacation?).

Or you can head to the Goats on the Roof and help the goats graze from up high. If you are more of a voyeur, you can watch from the air-conditioned second floor. This is totally different and a truly quirky option for things to do in Pigeon Forge.


Forbidden caverns

Inside this building, you’ll see celebrity replicas and imagined figures that are just begging to be photographed. Next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge, it’s a dinner show! Another popular dinner theatre attraction in Pigeon Forge is the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show. I love a good dinner show, it’s entertaining, and there’s food – what more could you want!

This family-friendly performance offers singing and dancing and includes a classic Southern dinner (fried chicken and mashed potatoes anyone?). There are vegetarian options, so you needn’t worry about missing out. This choice of things to do in Pigeon Forge is great fun – you’ll love it!

My next idea for things to do in Pigeon Forge, is the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. Located in the centre of the entertainment district, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel gives you some truly fantastic views of the area.

If you’re worried about the weather, don’t worry as you’ll be safely encased in a glass gondola!


Anakeesta

If you love ziplining, then you’ve got to visit Anakeesta. A mountain amusement area that takes full advantage of the scenery, you can zipline through the trees at this fantastic attraction that’s not to be missed.

If you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie, then this is the perfect option for things to do in Pigeon Forge.

Firefly Village

Next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge – it’s Firefly Village. If you happen to visit Anakeesta, you’ll want to stick around at the top of the mountain and explore Firefly Village. An amazingly whimsical village that has local arts and crafts on sale, it’s a lovely place for the whole family to enjoy. 

If you love checking out local culture, and finding unique bargains and cute boutique stores, Firefly Village should be on your list of things to do in Pigeon Forge.

Outdoor Gravity Park

If you’re looking for daring things to do in Pigeon Forge… Zorbing is truly unique and worth trying! If you’ve ever wanted to try zorbing, then look no further than Pigeon Forge’s Outdoor Gravity Park. Throw yourself down a 1000-foot hill in a giant hamster-wheel with up to two other people and roll your cares away!


Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts

If you’ve got some artists amongst you, then why not visit the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts – it’s next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge. Offering art classes for all, it’s the perfect place to brush up on your skills if you fancy a more chilled-out afternoon. If you’re not up for taking a class, you can take a look at the area and admire the artistry of others!

Definitely a great choice of things to do in Pigeon Forge, especially for people who love arts and crafts and getting creative!


Titanic Museum

If you’re interested in history, especially the history of the Titanic, the Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge is a really interesting and fascinating option for things to do in Pigeon Forge. This museum is an interesting and unique attraction to explore during your trip to Pigeon Forge.

Indoor skydiving is next on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge. If you’ve wanted to give skydiving a go but have neither the budget nor the stomach to it for real, give indoor skydiving at Flyaway a shot.

An indoor jump into a vertical wind tunnel, you’ll get some instruction plus safety gear to get you started. After that, you’ll get around three minutes of flying time inside the tunnel, so make the most of it!


The Track

When was the last time you went go-karting? Unleash your inner child for this next choice on our list of things to do in Pigeon Forge. Go-karts are not just for kids and are actually a great source of family fun!

Pigeon Forge’s The Track has three levels of go-karting on offer for different skill levels and offers plenty of other activities to try as well. If the karting doesn’t float your boat, you can visit the arcade or jump from a 65-foot platform and get your bungee on! This is such a fun option for things to do in Pigeon Forge!


Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum

Last on my list of things to do in Pigeon Forge, it’s the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum! Sounds random, but trust us!

Though it may seem a bizarre place to visit, the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum is one of Pigeon Forge’s coolest spots. Home to at least 20,000 different sets of salt and pepper shakers, it’s got the largest collection in the world!
