Sydney is one of the most stunning cities in the world, so if you’re there with your significant other you might be looking for romantic things to do in Sydney.
Between its majestic Harbour, iconic opera house and natural wonders, it’s full of exciting things to do. However, whether you live in Sydney or are simply visiting the area, you may be looking for some romantic things to do in Sydney that will spice things up. Sydney has plenty of fun and romantic date ideas, and hopefully this list will give you lots of ideas!
From amazing food tours to harbour cruises, there are so many romantic things to do in Sydney that will make any date perfect!
Sydney harbour cruise
If you’ve never done a cruise on the Sydney Habour, then this should be at the top of your list of romantic things to do in Sydney. If you pick the right cruise and take to the water at night-time, you’re guaranteed to have spectacular views of the Harbour. If you wish, you can even grab dinner on board!
There are lots of different cruise options available, from luxurious private tours (on your own boat) to shared group cruises. I’ve included some of my favourite options below…
Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
The second thing on this list of romantic things to do in Sydney is climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Not only is it one of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks, but it’s a great place to get a picture-perfect view of the city. If you’re feeling adventurous, climbing this iconic bridge is certainly a great way to bond with your partner. Be sure to grab a picture at the top to prove that you conquered Sydney’s toughest climb!

Hiking around Sydney’s countryside
If being outdoors is one of your passions, then one of the best romantic things to do in Sydney is to embrace the area’s natural beauty. Why not try a walking trail to get your hearts racing?
The Federation Cliff Walk north of Bondi offers truly sensational views and is quiet enough that you may be able to sneak a kiss or two. Both physically rewarding and romantic, this is an excellent date choice for those that love the Great Outdoors.
I really love this hiking tour option to the Figure 8 Pools too – perfect if you want a more ‘guided tour’ option for your date! The Figure 8 Pools are so scenic and they’re just the perfect romantic hike option! Definitely one the most romantic things to do in Sydney.

Visit one of Sydney’s many beaches
Next on my list of romantic things to do in Sydney, it’s visiting one of the city’s many beaches! Sydney has some truly stunning beaches, and whilst there aren’t any ‘secret’ beaches around these days, there are plenty of hideaways that are worth a visit. One of the best beaches to visit as a couple is Reef Beach, as it’s small, quiet and has some cracking views.
Another great choice is Wattamolla Beach. With a waterfall and lagoon, a visit to this particular beach has got to be one of the most romantic things to do in Sydney.

Take a food tour
If you’ve both got a passion for food, then a Sydney food tour may be one of the most romantic things to do in Sydney for you and your other half. Taste Cultural Food Tours is a charity and social enterprise that looks to provide training to Australian migrants and refugees.
Therefore, by indulging in your foodie fantasies, you’re eating for a good cause! Offering several tours such as Taste of Vietnam and Taste of Afghanistan, you can travel around the world without ever leaving Sydney.
My personal favourite food tour in Sydney is the Chinatown food tour, which you can check out by clicking here.

The buzzing atmosphere is truly sensational, and it’s the perfect way to discover your loved one’s cultural interests in greater depth. Definitely a great choice for romantic things to do in Sydney.
Take a sea-plane flight together
What could be more romantic than a private flight in a sea-plane? There aren’t many cities that you can take a sea-plane flight in, so this amazing activity definitely makes my list of romantic things to do in Sydney.

If you really fancy making a day of your trip, however, be sure to check out the 90-minute Aboriginal Heritage Tour that gives you an insight into the special, traditional plants that grow in the area.
A really special date ideathat you could combine with the Botanic Gardens is a special 11 course tasting meal experience at the world-class dining experience at Botanic House (inside the gardens). It’s really amazing, super romantic and delicious too! You can book this experience by clicking here.
