With 39 exhibition buildings that house paintings, folk art, quilts and more, it’s a fantastic tribute to New England’s history that shouldn’t be missed.

I love Burlington Breakwater as a local photography hotspot – as there’s always something beautiful to snap a photo of here, and the sunsets always seem to be so gorgeous here! The station was established in 1857 so this little piece of Burlington has it’s own interesting history to discover too!

Apple-picking in Burlington VT

Next on my list of 15 things to do in Burlington, Vermont is apple-picking. Though it may seem strange, Vermont’s apple growers actively invite visitors to enjoy the fall harvest by picking the best produce to take away. One of the best apple-picking spots in the area is Shelburne Orchards near the shores of Lake Champlain.

With most orchards also providing great cider and snacks, there’s a great afternoon on offer for all! Another wonderful way to spend the day in Burlington VT.

Hit the slopes!

Next on my list of things to do in Burlington, Vermont, it’s skiing! With mountains like Sugarbush, Smuggler’s Notch, Mad River Glen, and Stowe all closeby and within an easy driving distance, hitting the slopes when you’re in Burlington, Vermont is completely possible!

It can be a nice break from the city, or a nice change of pace, if you plan on staying for more than a few day! This is definitely a great addition to this list of things to do in Burlington, Vermont – especially for winter visitors!

Try out a snowmobile

So if you’re heading up the slopes… You need to have a go on a snow mobile! Snowmobile Vermont has four different locations, but their Stowe location is the closest to Burlington, so that’s the one you’re likely to opt for if stopping in Burlington, Vermont.

A snowmobile is a little bit like a jet-ski but on snow (instead of in water). It’s a lot of fun, a bit adrenaline-fuelled, and you can do tours and instructor led sessions too! It’s such a fun idea for things to do in Burlington, Vermont.

Frog Hollow Craft Center

If the Flynn Center wasn’t enough art for you, then be sure to head down to the Frog Hollow Craft Center. With purchasable exhibits that change constantly, visitors and locals can help contribute to local artists by supporting their exposure.
