First on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s Table Rock Viewing Area. Table Rock’s Viewing Area is a must-visit for tourists heading to the falls. A great spot for picture taking and located right by the Falls themselves, this is the place to head for stunning scenery and insta-worthy shots.
Maid of the Mist Tour
How could I write a list of things to do in Niagara Falls, without mentioning the Maid of the Mist Tour. Operating as a great sightseeing tour for visitors, the Maid of the Mist tour has been running since 1846!
Able to accommodate up to 600 visitors per tour, you’ll be able to see the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the famous Horseshoe Falls before heading back to Niagara Falls State Park.
I love a zipline! Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s the zip-lining! If you’re an adrenaline junkie, then a visit to a Ziplining facility is a must-do!

One of the best ways to see Niagara Falls is from a boat, and it’s deifnitely one of the most fun ways to admire the falls too! This boat tour is one of the best options in the area, so make sure you check it out!
Just north of Horseshoe Falls lies the Whirlpool Aero Car. If you love gondola travel, then this 550-meter journey is sure to provide an unforgettable experience to riders. With great views of the raging waters below, it’s a fantastic 10 minutes!
Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s the White-Water walk. If you’re looking for a more natural view of the falls, then the White-Water Walk is the perfect way to stretch your legs.
After taking an elevator to the base of the gorge you’ll be able to trail the quarter-mile boardwalk that overlooks the Great Gorge Rapids. Along the way, there are some great observation spots, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
Scenic Helicopter Flight
Next up on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s a Scenic Helicopter Flight. Niagara Falls in so HUGE, one of the best ways to get a real perspective of it, is from the air.
It’s a truly awe-inspiring sight, and it’s just amazing to see such a spectacular waterfall from the air. It’s more expensive than the boat tours, but it’s SO worth it!
Nikola Tesla Statue
If you want to pay tribute to one of science’s finest, then be sure to check out the statue of Nikola Tesla in Niagara Falls. If you’re looking to grab a photo, then be sure to head on over to Goat Island to check out this massive statue!

Yoga by the Falls costs $60 and includes a 45-minute yoga class, access to Journey Behind the Falls and brunch at either the Queenston Heights or Whirlpool Restaurant. Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s the Butterfly Arboretum. This attraction is one of the most stunning in Niagara Falls and absolutely one of the top things to do in Niagara Falls. The Buttery Conservatory at Niagara Parks houses over 2,000 colourful tropical butterflies. If you’re lucky, one might even land on you!
Niagara River Jet Boat Tour
Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls is Niagara River Jet Boat Tour. This is a great choice for things to do in Niagara Falls for those who like a bit of an adrenaline rush! This is so much fun and it’s a great choice for families with kids too – as it’s such an experience and something they won’t ever forget!
Basically you’ll zoom around the Class 5 rapids on the Niagara River, whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery along the river! It’s high-speed but a great way to see some incredible views. It’s also a great price too!
Hornblower Falls Cruise
If you want to get soaked and see the best of the Falls, then one of the best things you can do in Niagara Falls is to head on a Hornblower Cruise. One of the best ways to get up close and personal to the thunderous Falls, this is one thing not to be missed.
St Catherine’s Museum
St Catherine’s Museum is one of the best historical attractions around. With fascinating displays and memorabilia that tell the story of the town of St Catharine and the nearby Welland Canal, it’s a peaceful place to spend an afternoon in Niagara Falls.
The Griffon Gastropub
The Griffon Gastropub is an EPIC gastro pub located in Niagara Falls and has been voted in the top 3 of all restaurants in Niagara Falls.
Literally, this place serves up the most epic portions, delicious foods and has a great atmosphere too. If you only have one night in Niagara Falls, then I feel like this place is an awesome option!
Journey Behind the Falls
Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s Journey Behind the Falls. If you want to get as close to the Falls as possible, then you’ll need to head on Journey Behind the Falls.
This tour allows visitors to take an elevator ride to an observation deck which allows visitors great views of Horseshoe Falls and the Niagara River. On the Journey Behind the Falls, you’ll traverse tunnels for an up-close view of one of nature’s greatest wonders.
Goat island is such a fun day out in Niagara Falls! There are plenty of Goat Island Tours available (click the link below for the one I recommend). Goat Island is a lovely place to visit and enjoy, there are some lovely walks to enjoy and lovely views to enjoy. It’s also where the Tesla statue is located (mentioned earlier on this list).
Welland Canals Center
If you’re a fan of ships, then you should absolutely visit the museum’s adjoining Canals Center. Built to allow ships to bypass Niagara Falls, it’s a stunning place to watch the ships go by. It’s a great choice for things to do in Niagara Falls.
Niagara on the Lake
Located only 20 minutes from Niagara Falls is the beautiful town of Niagara on the Lake. Niagara on the Lake has a great shopping street that’s absolutely packed with shops, galleries, and cafés.
In addition to these great attractions, there are also some fabulous wineries and golf spots for those that wish to live in the lap of luxury. Shopping in Jordan
One of the best things to do in Niagara Falls if you’re looking to visit for shopping is to pay a visit to Jordan Village. Like Niagara on the Lake, this place has an excellent Main Street and visitors love to wile away the hours at the many charming boutiques and cafés here.
If you love wine, then Niagara Falls may be heaven to you! Niagara has over 50 wineries, and many of these offer spectacular wine tastings – so these obviously have to make my list of things to do in Niagara Falls. However, if that isn’t enough for you, many of these spots also offer tasty eats too, so great for foodies too!
One of the best value tours in the area is the air tour, in a mini plane right over the falls, combined with a winery visit and wine tasting (click here for tickets).
You can’t visit Niagara Falls without getting into nature! Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s Niagara Glen!
Located deep in the Niagara Gorge is a series of rugged paths geared at hikers. Should you be looking to see the best of Niagara’s flora and fauna, then Niagara Glen is the perfect place to visit. As a bonus, Niagara Glen overlooks the rapid waters of the Niagara River, so you get a lot for your physical exertion on this great trail.
Table Rock House
If you’re looking for a spectacular place to eat in Niagara Falls, then be sure to book a table at Table Rock House. Seen as one of the best places to eat in Niagara Falls with a view, you’ll leave with a full stomach and endless photographs after a meal here.
Reasonably priced and hearty, the food here is truly fantastic so it had to make my list of things to do in Niagara Falls.
Dinosaur Adventure Golf
Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s adventure golf! Who doesn’t love adventure golf?
If you’re a fan of mini golf but want to switch it up slightly, then head on down to Dinosaur Adventure Golf! Featuring 18-hole courses, 3 distinct decorative ponds and even a steam erupting volcano, this is a truly unique place to attempt a hole in one.
Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s a craft beer tour! If you love craft beer, then you’re in luck, for Niagara Falls has a surprisingly large selection of craft beers for visitors to sample!
Clifton Hill Brewing Company is the best place to head for a Niagara Premium Lager or Honeymoon Peach Radler, so be sure to check in here for some unbeatable brews.
The Fireworks at Niagara Falls are truly spectacular, so we’d recommend heading on a Niagara Falls Fireworks Cruise for the best vantage point possible! The best time to see these fireworks is the summer, so if possible, try and book between June and September for a guaranteed display.
There’s just something so romantic and special about this, so it had to make my list of things to do in Niagara Falls.
I couldn’t write a list of things to do in Niagara Falls without including the Fallsview casino! It’s actually one of the main reasons lots of people visit Niagara Falls, aside from the falls of course.
If you love the excitement of casinos, then you’re in luck, for Niagara Falls’ very own casino has 150 table games and thousands of slot machines just waiting for you. With great shopping and performances also hosted throughout the year, there’s plenty to do if you don’t manage to score with Lady Luck.
Fort George ghost tour
If you’re into the weird and wonderful, then why not head on a Niagara Falls Ghost Tour? As Fort George played an important role in the defence of Canada during the 1812 war, it’s a great place to visit after dark for some great ghostly re-enactments.
This is such a fun idea for things to do in Niagara Falls, and I think you’ll really enjoy it – especially if you’re visiting around Halloween!
Clifton Hill is a fantastic place to visit if you love restaurants, shopping, and nightclubs. There’s so much to do here and is a great place to visit after checking out the falls for some excellent cocktails and even mini golf if it takes your fancy.
As Niagara Falls is a great place to visit year-round, we thought we’d cover a couple of things that appear in the area during the winter months. One of the best things to do in Niagara Falls during winter is a visit to the Icewine Festival.
As Ontario produces around 80% of the world’s Icewine, this festival is the best place to visit for your fix of this unique beverage. If you’re into trying new food and drinks, then this is definitely one of the best things to do in Niagara Falls.
Winter Festival of Lights
If you want to feel as though you’re walking in a winter wonderland, then look no further than the Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls. In the winter, this is one of the top things to do in Niagara Falls.
From November to January, the Niagara Parkway transforms into a true winter wonderland, providing guests with a winter light display that rivals some of the world’s finest.
Cave of the Winds
If you want to get extremely close to the Falls, then look no further than the Cave of the Winds. Here, you’ll find yourself just feet away from the base of Bridal Falls, so be prepared to get wet!
This is a classic choice for things to do in Niagara Falls, if a little touristy! But still really fun!
The Floral Showhouse
The Floral Showhouse is a must-visit if you’re in Niagara Falls. This display of stunning flowers in Queen Victoria Park is the perfect way to brighten up a miserable spring day.
The Floral Clock
If you want to check out one of the most photographed attractions in Niagara Falls, then be sure to pay a visit to The Floral Clock. Built in 1950, it is one of the largest Floral Clocks in the world. Made from stainless steel tubing, it weighs a whopping 1,250 pounds!
It’s super cute, a great instagram photo opportunity, and had to make my list of things to do in Niagara Falls.
The Niagara Falls Botanical Gardens
If you haven’t had enough of flower-themed to-dos on our list, then you’re in luck! The Niagara Falls Botanical Gardens is a stunning display of florals. Spanning 40 hectares, this beautifully manicured garden is a must-visit.
Old Fort Niagara
For the history buffs out there, you’ll want to be sure to visit Old Fort Niagara, it’s a key part of Niagara’s history so it had to make my list of things to do in Niagara Falls.
Originally established in the 1600s, this famous fort played a large role in the French and Indian War, American Revolution, and the War of 1812. So, if you’re interested in military history, then you’d be mad to miss this one!
If you want something fun and adrenaline-fuelled to do in Niagara Falls, it’s the Whirlpool Jetboat! If you love a thrill ride, then why not head out on a Whirlpool Jetboat? The scenery you’ll be surrounded by is breath-taking, and the Class V white water rapids guarantee a rip-roaring experience that will be talked about for years!
Erie Canal Cruise
For a relaxing afternoon, why not hit the waters for a scenic canal cruise? The Erie Canal Cruise is our favourite, as it brings you past five of the original 1800s locks. It’s such a lovely option for things to do in Niagara Falls.
In addition to this, you’ll pass plenty of lift bridges and rock cuts, so it’s the perfect way to take in the area if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands!
Things to do in Niagara Falls: hiking!
If you’re a serious hiker, then be sure to head to Devil’s Hole State Park where you can check out the miles of trails that take you into the midst of the Niagara Whirlpool! For great views of nature that you may not be able to get elsewhere, this is a must-do.
Hiking is obviously a great thing to do in Niagara Falls, just make sure you’ve got all the equipment and gear you need to be safe!
If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the tourist spots, then why not spend a relaxing afternoon at this nature reserve?
Offering great trails through the Carolinian Forest, it’s a great way to spend an afternoon for those needing to stretch their legs. This is a great idea for things to do in Niagara Falls, especially is you love the great outdoors! You might even spot some amazing, beautiful wildlife – like this stunning baby deer!
The Pizza Oven
Though this is more of a place to eat than a thing to do in Niagara Falls, we just had to add it to our list of things to do in Niagara Falls. The Pizza Oven is a legendary pizza joint that locals absolutely love.
Though these guys are only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, they are constantly packed (which we feel is a testament to their fantastic grub!).
Annie Edson Taylor’s Grave
Though you may not be familiar with this woman, you’ll want to pay a visit to her grave to learn more about her incredible story. On October 24, 1901, Annie nailed herself shut inside a pickle barrel and floated down over the falls. Somehow, she survived! She’s now buried in a section of Oakwood Cemetery should you wish to congratulate her.
Niagara Falls Trolley
The Niagara Falls Trolley is one of the best things to do in Niagara Falls for the sheer value for money. For only $3, you can ride in a vintage trolley and see a bunch of the American side of the Falls. With unlimited hop-on and hop-off options, it’s a really great way to see the area cheaply.

Niagara Gorge Discovery Center
This spot is a great showcase of the natural and local history of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. Featuring great information on the Niagara Gorge, this place offers a hands-on interactive experience for visitors looking to learn more about this feat of nature!
This is a great option for things to do in Niagara Falls, especially if you like educational activities.
The Observation Tower
Though we’ve briefly touched on this, the Observation Tower itself is absolutely one of the best things to do in Niagara Falls.
Offering visitors, the only unobstructed panoramic view of all three of Niagara’s falls, it’s a must-do! If you keep your eyes peeled, you may even spot some American bald eagles from up here!
Waves indoor waterpark
Who doesn’t love a waterpark? Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s Waves Indoor Waterpark! Perfect for families who are visiting!
Offering 25,000 square feet of family fun, this indoor waterpark is one of the best things to do in Niagara Falls. With a wave pool, huge water slides, kiddie pools and more, this is a fantastic day out for the entire family!
Hydroelectric Plant Ruins
If you want another taste of history, then head down to the ruins of the Schoellkopf Power Station. Built in the 1870s downhill from Niagara Falls, this generator crumbled into the Niagara River in 1956.
Though the collapse was tragic, the ruins are incredibly interesting and are certainly worth exploring if you’ve got the time. A great choice for things to do in Niagara Falls, if you like learning about history.
Queen Victoria Park
Featuring a mix of greenery and amazing flowers, Queen Victoria Park gives you a front row view of Niagara Falls. As the park is located along the Niagara Gorge and River, it’s a great place to take some photographs of the Falls in a relaxed setting.

A trip to the IMAX Theatre
Next on my list of things to do in Niagara Falls, it’s a trip to the IMAX theatre. The Niagara Falls IMAX Theatre is a fantastic place to head if you’re looking to experience Niagara Falls on the big screen. With a bunch of movies that explore the history of Niagara Falls, this is one cinematic experience that is not to be missed.
Ripley’s Believe It Or Not
Housing everything from genuine Amazonian Shrunken Heads to Tibetan Skulls, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not is the place to visit for wacky artefacts. With 13 themed galleries that house hundreds of exhibits and illusions, this is a place that you’ll need to see to believe…or not. This is a classic tourist choice, and a top choice for things to do in Niagara Falls.
Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks
Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks brings over 100 figures of the rich and famous to life in the heart of Niagara. With 16 themed galleries that each offer some excellent photo opportunities, it’s the perfect place to visit if you’re wanting to feel like a star for a day.
Bird Kingdom Niagara Falls
