A spa break is definitely one of my favourite kinds of getaways. A whole weekend where you get to relax and switch-off? Yes please, sounds like heaven.
There are so many gorgeous places in the UK where you can enjoy a spa break, but there are a few things you’ll want to know before booking, so you have an amazing time.
Choose the perfect spa for you
Pick your spa wisely, and look at the full package they offer. Maybe you’re after a pampering spa day, or a detox weekend – different spas will offer different types of treatments. Make sure they do the kind of treatments you’re after, and also that the price point is right for you and your friends too. It’s also worth looking at how away the spa is, so you can plan for travel too.
If you’re travelling far, look for nearby hotels
The best kinds of spa days involve a glass of champagne (or two) and involve lots of relaxation too. Because of this, the last thing you want to do after your spa day is get in the car and drive miles or hours home. A nearby hotel is a great idea, so it’s a great idea to make sure there are nearby options. Lots of spas actually have hotels attached to them too, which makes things even easier.
Pack the right clothes
You’ll definitely want to pack the right clothes for your spa break. If you’re headed away for the night, you’ll want some comfy clothes, a bathing suit and maybe a change of clothes or something a bit smarter if you’re having lunch in the spa too. If you’re stopping for two days, definitely take 2 bathing suits, just to be sure you’ve got options.
Book in advance
Once you’ve found you’re perfect spa weekend / destination – make sure you book ahead! Popular spas will always book up ahead of time, especially in spring and summer when lots of people have their hen parties and pre-wedding treatments.
