Are you looking for how to find the FRIENDS apartment in NYC? Well, look no further!
If you’re a Friends fanatic visiting NYC, then one place you’ll simply have to visit, is the iconic Friends apartment.
Whilst most of the interior scenes for Friends were filmed in Los Angeles, the exterior shots of the Friends apartment, can be found in the heart of Manhattan.
But where exactly? Well, that’s where we come in!
The Friends apartment in NYC, is located at the following address:
90 Bedford St, New York, NY 10014, United States
It’s located in the heart of a neighborhood called Greenwich Village, and I really recommend taking a stroll around there after you taken some selfies at the Friends apartment building, because it’s such a gorgeous neighborhood and you’ll really get a feel for the life the Friends would’ve led!
Greenwich Village is full of beautiful NYC buildings, cobbled streets, and wonderful neighborhood bars and restaurants.
You’ll love it!
Can you visit the inside of the Friends apartment?
Nope, unfortunately not.
As I mentioned, the interior scenes of the Friends apartment in NYC were primarily shot in Los Angeles, on a sound stage.
So the apartment you can see at 90 Bedford St is the Friends apartment on the outside, but not on the inside. It’s just a regular apartment, and someone really lives there (lucky them!).
If you do want a taste of the interior of the Friends apartment in NYC, then you could also do the Friends experience, which is also located in Manhattan.
The Friends Experience is an indoor experience with set recreations, including Joey and Chandler’s apartment, the Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, Monica and Rachel’s living room, and Central Perk. It’s so much fun!
You can book tickets by clicking here!
It’s must-do for any Friends fan, and perfect when paired with a day trip to 90 Bedford St!
Additional Friends filming locations in NYC…
Alongside the famous and iconic Friends apartment in NYC, there are a few other fun filming locations (as well as the Friends apartment in NYC) that you may want to check out!
Of course, it’s worth noting, these are external filming locations – because the internal shots will have been filmed in the Los Angeles soundstage.

Central Perk at 96 Bedford Street
While the interior scenes of Central Perk were filmed on a soundstage in Los Angeles, the exterior shots of the coffee shop were inspired by a real location in New York City.
The exterior used for Central Perk is located at 96 Bedford Street, New York, NY 10014.
The Friends fountain
The Friends fountain is one of the MOST famous Friends moments, because it features in every single episode! In the opening credits!
The Friends fountain is called the Cherry Hill fountain in Central Park!
OK, now technically, the actual fountain you see in the opening credits was a unique near-replicate built in and remaining in the California studios. But I think this one is just as good, and it’ll definitely suffice!

Washington Square Park
Various episodes feature scenes set in Washington Square Park, a well-known park in Greenwich Village.
The park is often seen in establishing shots throughout the series too.
The Plaza Hotel
Whilst the TV show wasn’t actually filmed in the Plaza… If you want to celebrate your own engagement in the same locations as Monica and Chandler… This is where you need to go!
The Plaza is an iconic NYC landmark anyway… and even more so for this little mention in Friends!
Streets of Greenwich Village
Throughout the series, you can see the characters walking along the charming streets of Greenwich Village, which serves as the backdrop for much of the show’s exterior shots.
Bloomingdales
Whilst this isn’t technically a filming location, it’s definitely a place every super-fan should visit!
Bloomingdales is Rachel’s favorite store in the city, and she also becomes an assistant buyer at Bloomingdale’s in season three.
Madison Square Garden
The Friend’s watch several sports games at Madison Square Garden, and you can pretty much do the same thing!
There are various sports playing all year round, but I know that Joey and Chandler are particularly fond of watching basketball and hockey!
The Lucille Lortel Theatre
The Lucille Lortel Theatre is featured a few times in the early seasons, when Joey is still a theater performer (and not a soap opera star).
