If I had to pick a favourite place in NYC it’d have to be Central Park. It’s that kind of gorgeous, magical, amazingness you always dreamt it would be (and then some).

I’ve seen central park in the snow, in the sunshine, and in the autumn – and these photos are just classic cold New York, on a sunny day. I wanted to share them, because for me they sum just how gorgeous this city is.

My favourite little ‘route’ I guess when we’re in NYC is to start near the Plaza Hotel and the Apple Store, and enter the park from there. You get some incredible views by starting from there… and isn’t that what it’s all about?

Also (pro tip here!) there is a food hall in the basement of The Plaza Hotel that do some yummy stuff. Not super cheap, but surprisingly not expensive either. Definitely a good lunch option if you need one in the area!

Depending on how much time you’ve got (or how much your feet are aching) you can walk through the park for ten minute or 4/5 hours. You’ll never cover all of it in one go (it’s simply huge) but it’s worth giving it a good try!

I’ve roughly mapped the entrance below….

From there you can clamber on a load of rocks to get views like this…

There’s something kind of special about seeing the park in winter too – the lake always looks so picture-perfect when it’s frozen over!
