With its heavily Mormon history and reputation for being a hard city to find a beer in, you can kind of see why, but Salt Lake City has undergone a bit of a change revelry, revamped its liquor laws, and become a much more popular destination.
With 220 days of sunshine a year, award-winning restaurants, Olympic ski slopes, speakeasies, salt flats and double-feature drive-ins you kinda have to put Salt Lake City on your list of places to visit, and there are so many great things to do in Salt Lake City for adults.

Bonneville Salt Flats
First on my list of fun things to do in Salt Lake City for adults, it’s the Bonneville Salt Flats. This is basically what Salt Lake City is famous for, right?
These salt flats are one of the most interesting and alien landscapes on earth, so it’s no wonder that they’ve been used for so many film sets.
The salt flats are a hard white crust of salt stretching as far as the eye can see, and they’re the only salt flats in the whole of the USA.
They’re quite something to see, make an incredible photo opportunity!
Olympic Park
Salt Lake City, UT held the winter Olympic Games in 2002 and this amazing facility of ski slopes, ice rinks, tubing and bobsledding was left behind for public use.

Get there early to get a good spot and get your popcorn! Drive-in movies are SO much fun, and they make you feel all kinds of nostalgia.

Next on my list, it’s the amazing (and super popular!) evo Hotel Crown Bar.
This is pretty much agreed to be the best rooftop bar in Salt Lake City, so if you want to enjoy some cute cocktails and city views – this is the place!

Salt Lake City has a huge selection of art galleries from classic American fare to contemporary and cutting edge.

Brewvies is a cross between ‘movie’ and ‘brews’ – so it’s basically a pub mixed with a cinema.
I know it’s another movie-going experience, but this one really is for the grownups and is well-deserving of its place on our list of fun activities in Salt Lake City for adults.
Settle in for a movie with a speciality beer, and enjoy a pretty awesome date night.
The Green Pig Pub
Next on our list of things to do in Salt Lake City for adults, it’s the wonderful The Green Pig Pub.
The Green Pig Pub is local favorite in Salt Lake City, and it’s a great place to visit if you want to enjoy some atmosphere, vibes, energy and nightlife.
They’ve got some amazing food on offer too – which is such a bonus!

Visit Temple Square
Next up on my list, it’s visiting Temple Square.
Temple Square in Salt Lake City is a really important part of the city’s history, it’s an important holy site that was originally designated by Mormon pioneers.
It’s viewed as a place of God, and it’s currently owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Everything in the area is dedicated to peaceful worship, and praising God – and that includes art exhibits, historic monuments, libraries and churches.
Utah Wine Tours
Utah Wine Tours are the next suggestion for fun things to do in Salt Lake City for adults.
You can get picked up from your hotel and shuttles to all of Utah’s greatest wineries, breweries, distilleries and vineyards for a day of tasting, it’s such a fun day out (and getting picked up means you don’t need to worry about driving).
The tours about 5 hours long and there’s loads of different options so that you can tailor your tour to your taste! It’s such a fun day out in Salt Lake City.

Whilst this speakeasy isn’t really a secret anymore, it definitely gives you that secret bunker vibe. Cocktails are abundant, the food is diner-style, and the space is tight.
We’d recommend booking, as whilst walking are very welcome, you’re not always guaranteed space to sit.

Bingham Canyon Mine

You’ll get to see around the amazing mine, but also learn lots of history surrounding the mine too.
Beerhive bar
Beerhive bar is up next! And I think you’re going to love this one!
Next on my list of An actual staple in the SLC scene, this bar to beer bars to whole new level, lifted them out of spit and sawdust and saloon doors, and brings beverage and bar together to create a warm I biting environment.
Everyone’s happy to get chatting, this is place to lose a couple of hours in the perdu it if your favourite beer in tap.
The Depot
Next on my list of fun things to do in Salt Lake City for adults, it’s the Depot. Definitely somewhere in Salt Lake City that you’ll want to check out!
Part of SLC’s thriving music scene, this venue books a variety of acts from big names to up and comers.
It’s a small intimate venue, and makes this list of fun things to do in Salt Lake City because it’s a really great place to see great music.
The bar is easy to get to, and you can see the stage pretty well from anywhere.
Juniors
The next entry on this list of fun things to do in Salt Lake City for adults is a pool bar where you and your mates could probably hustle the regular players by pretending you’re not very good and then smashing it out the park. (Idk that’s genuinely always been my dream).
To be honest though this pool bar actually has a super convivial air, and the clientele are really loyal to their fave bar and pool hall.
Hogle Zoo
Who said the zoo is just for families and kids? Erm… Not me!
The zoo is actually a great day out, and Salt Lake City has it’s own zoo called Hogle Zoo. It’s a really great zoo and make for a lovely option for things to do in Salt Lake City for adults.

It’s a relaxing, calming and beautiful day out, and it’s a perfect way to spend time in the city in a calming environment.
Visit Get Out Games: Escape Room
Next on our list it’s the amazing Get Out Games, which is an escape room in Salt Lake City.
If you’ve never done an escape room before, you’re going to love it. It’s like an immersive puzzle, where you can work together to solve a mystery.

You can simply spend a few hours walking around the park and soaking in the scenery, or you could take a ball and play some ball games, or maybe pack a picnic and have lunch al fresco!
Millcreek Canyon

Millcreek Canyon is a great way to enjoy the scenery around Salt Lake City – it’s a beautiful place to hike, walk and just get back to nature.
Be sure to stay to the marked trails, and be sure to check any weather warnings if you plan on being there for more than an hour or so.
Oh – and pack a picnic for here too – as there are lots of public picnic benches you can use.
Rent a bike

You can rent bikes from multiple different companies in the city, and it’s a great way to see the city and explore at your pace.
