Though the word metropolitan or multicultural might come to mind when thinking about Singapore, the place is a great romantic getaway for couples. With glorious picnic spots, river cruises and even cable-car dining, the Lion City is full of romantic things to do for couples.
So, if you’re looking for some date-night inspiration, read on and discover just how many things there are in Singapore catered to the romantics amongst you.
Picnic in Gardens by the Bay
The first on my list of things to do in Singapore for couples, it’s Gardens by the Bay. Gardens have long been spots for couples to hang out and picnic, so why not visit Singapore’s ultimate garden and spend the afternoon at Gardens by the Bay? Surrounded by Super trees that create quite the show at night, you can lay out your picnic blanket at numerous wonderful spots in this amazing garden.
However, if you don’t fancy bringing your own food, Satay by the Bay is an outdoor food court that serves up classic Singaporean favourites. Whether you decide on the namesake satay or any other wonderful local dishes, you’re sure to have an amazing foodie date night at the gardens.

Singapore River Cruise
A Singapore river cruise is next on my list of things to do in Singapore for couples. Cruises and boat tours have long had a reputation for being romantic, and a cruise down the Singapore River is certainly no exception. Why not hop on a cruise at night and catch the amazing light show by the bay?
Otherwise, why not take yourselves out on a day cruise and see the best of the city’s skyline and historic architecture from the water? If you two love to be on the water, it’s one of the most exciting and efficient ways to see Singapore! And hey, it’s a great place to get some amazing pictures together too! I can’t think of a nicer things to do in Singapore for couples, than a romantic boat cruise!
Visit a hawker centre
Hawker centres (or hawker food courts) are one of the most well known things to do in Singapore, and it’s perfect for couples, so it’s my next suggestion for things to do in Singapore for couples. If you love exploring cities by trying the amazing food, then sampling loads of the hawker stalls in a hawker centre is going to be perfect for you both!
Try out out a ton of amazing food, enjoy tasting lots of delicious local flavours, and get stuck in! If you’re an artsy couple, then you’re sure to appreciate this suggestion. The National Gallery in Singapore is one of the finest showcases of art and architecture in the world.

Dinner at Mount Faber
Next on my list of things to do in Singapore for couples, it’s Mount Faber. Have you ever wanted to take having dinner with that special someone to new heights? Well, look no further, as private cabin dinners at Mount Faber make that dream a reality! Situated 328 feet above sea level, you’ll certainly have a night to remember as you enjoy your meal sky-high.
Though this isn’t exactly a cheap date, it’s going to be one for the books. With 4-course meals and mesmerising city views from your own private cable-car, this possibly tops the list as one of the best things to do as a couple in Singapore. Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck
Next on my list of things to do in Singapore for couples, it’s the Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck. This incredible view has to be seen to be believed!

Ice Skating at J-Cube
Ice-skating is my next idea for things to do in Singapore for couples. Now, we all know that ice-skating is a stereotypical couple activity. So, why not indulge in some skating in Singapore at J-Cube?
With amazing lighting and great music, there’s really nothing like it. Also, nothing quite says couple-bonding than laughing at your significant other as they take a tumble on the ice!
Have fun at Sentosa Island
Sentosa Island is my next idea for things to do in Singapore for couples. Full of beach bars, amazing stretches of sand and endless activities, Sentosa Island is the perfect spot for fun-loving couples that love adventure. If you fancy some friendly competition, why not take on the Sentosa Luge?
With racing each other actively encouraged here, it’s a good way to up your game. With plenty of free things on offer here too, it’s a great budget date spot in Singapore that has an awesome atmosphere. The Mind Café

Snow City- Magical Wonderland
A great place to live out your winter fantasies if you live in a tropical country, Singapore’s Snow City is a great indoor snow spot to snuggle up with your loved one. With snow sculptures, ice fishing and snow fights, it’s a great light-hearted place to get cosy and enjoy each other’s company.
Singapore Zoo
Singapore Zoo is one of the best zoos in the world, which is why it’s my next suggestion for things to do in Singapore for couples.
I loved Singapore when I visited (I’ve been a couple of times) and it’s so spacious and the animals seem to be really looked after. If you want to see some incredible animals, this is the place to do it. Click here for tickets (including the tram ride).
Singapore night safari
Similar to the Singapore Zoo (right next door in fact) but the Singapore night safari takes place in the evening and night-time. It’s a safari-style experience, in the dark! It’s a really quirky thing to do for couples in Singapore – and something you’ll always remember!
Explore the Cloud Forest
Second on my list of things to do in Singapore for couples, it’s the cloud forest. If the outdoor gardens don’t quite do the trick for you and your partner, why not check out the indoor conservatories? The Cloud Forest is particularly romantic, housing a modern greenhouse and stunning waterfall that catches your eye as soon as you enter the dome.
Creating an almost ethereal atmosphere, this has got to be one of Singapore’s most romantic hotspots. With several amazing photo opportunities on offer here, this dome may just get you your next Instagram couple shot! This is such a magical thing to do in Singapore for couples!
Explore Little India
In my opinion, Little India is one of the most scenic parts of Singapore, with some of the most interesting buildings and architecture. One of my personal top things to do in Singapore for couples, is spending an afternoon wandering through the streets of Little India, enjoying some local food and just soaking it all in!
Universal Studios
There’s no better day out (at least in my opinion) than a theme park, and Singapore’s Universal Studios is amazing! It’s huge and there’s loads of rides and attractions to enjoy together, so it’s definitely makes for an amazing things to do in Singapore for couples. Take a stroll around the esplanade at sunset
The esplanade is the area of Singapore located right on the waterfront, it’s the part of the city you’ll find those stunning evening views of the city lights reflected in the glistening water.
It’s a pretty magical place to enjoy an evening stroll together – and it’s definitely one of my favourite things to do in Singapore for couples! In fact, here’s a photo of my husband and I many years ago doing just that!
Race each other on the Skyline Luge
If you’ve never been on a Skyline Luge before, oh boy, you’re in for a treat. The skyline Luge is basically a huge go-kart course, but with scenic views and absolutely huge. It’s soooo much fun, and you can go round and round racing each other and trying to get the best times possible. Sip cocktails at Raffles Hotel
And last on my list of things to do in Singapore for couples, it’s Raffles! Raffles is on of the most iconic hotels in Singapore, and it’s a must-see when you’re in the city for sure. If you want to visit somewhere romantic, get dressed up and sip some delicious cocktails, head to Raffles Hotel to do it! You can’t even more luxurious, it’s perfect for a classy date night!
