Margaret Kuo’s Kitchen At The Promenade is a great choice for people looking for something a little different. Not everyone wants a traditional Thanksgiving dinner – and if that sounds like you, then this might be the place to book.

They serve up delicious Chinese cuisine, whilst mixing classic dishes with more nouveau Asia concepts. The result? A super memorable and delicious dining experience.

It’s a favorite with locals, and it’s no surprise really, because the food here is totally yummy.

My favorite dish on the menu has to be the Black Pepper Rack of Lamb, or the Velvet Chicken. Both would be contenders for my main meal!


La Viola

La Viola offers delicious and authentic Italian food, and the dining experience here is peaceful and lovely.

It also has a really romantic vibe to it – making this a great choice for date-night restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Philadelphia.

You’ll find lots of Italian classics on the menu here, which includes a variety of pasta favorites, and delicious roasted meats and fresh fish too.

This is such a great choice for where to eat on Thanksgiving, and I think you’ll love it.

What would I order? Well, right now I’d probably pick their Rigatoni Bolognese! But their menus are always changing with the season, so you never know!

Elwood

Elwood is next on my list of the best restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Philadelphia. This is a restaurant that I am always recommending to people, especially self-confessed foodies.

Elwood put on a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner, inspired by Chef Adam Diltz’s country roots, and Pennsylvania’s culinary history. A match made in heaven, really.

I recommend booking early for this location, as it’s very popular, and tends to book up quickly!

What makes this place so special? It’s intimate cuisine at it’s best. The food feels curated, carefully presented, and rustic too.

The food here has a story, and a journey – and that’s something really special. Especially for a special occasion such as Thanksgiving – it’s a really beautiful place to eat and enjoy.


The Plough & The Stars

The Plough & The Stars is my next idea for restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Philadelphia.

The Plough & The Stars just oozes autumn vibes. From the huge welcoming fireplace, to the beautifully selected autumn decor.

This places feels like the ideal place to spend Thanksgiving, so we’re glad it’s open for diners on the day itself!

These guys have a special menu for Thanksgiving – which is usually released on their social media closer to the time.

But last year – the Thanksgiving menu here comprises of a turkey and Irish ham combo plate, with all the extras you’d expect. Such as stuffing, fresh veggies, potatoes, cranberry sauce and much more. Yum!

It’s a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, and beautifully presented too. Overall, I think this place is absolutely ideal if you’re looking for something super traditional and very festive.


Teca Newtown Square

This is another lovely Italian restaurant that serves up some lovely food on Thanksgiving.

The food here is affordable, but delicious, and you’ll find all the tasty Italian classics on their menu for you to enjoy.

What would I order? Well, I’d start with the Meatball Al Forno, and then get the Wild Boar Bolognese. But there’s so much more on the menu to explore too!

This is a great option for restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Philadelphia, especially if you’re looking for somewhere low-key, with a family vibe.


Black Powder Tavern

This place is casual and fun, and it’s also packed with history too – this place dates back to 1746.

On normal days, this place serves up small and big plates, with American classics and modern flavors. They also have some amazing craft beers here – which we recommend trying out with your meal!

Why do I love this place as a Thanksgiving option though? Well, they put on a Thanksgiving buffet! And you can’t beat a Thanksgiving buffet (especially when you didn’t have to cook it!).

From 11:30am until 7:00pm, you’ll be able to take a seat for a delicious Thanksgiving buffet, which (of course) features a turkey dinner and all the trimmings.

It’s a fantastic pick for restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Philadelphia, and you can literally eat until you’re stuffed.


Bank & Bourbon

Bank & Bourbon is another fantastic choice for restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Philadelphia, and it’s one where you’re going to be spoilt for choice!

The food here is fresh, the energy is fun and friendly, and the style of food is sophisticated and tasty.

Oh, and don’t forget about their innovative creative cocktails, because cocktail making is something they take really seriously here!

Tip: I would skip the win pairing, and opt for the cocktails instead. It’s more fun and better value!


Chima Steakhouse

Next on my list of the best restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Philadelphia, it’s Chima Steakhouse.

There’s just something about having a steak on Thanksgiving, that feels right!

Their Thnaksgiving hours are from 12pm to 8pm, and the experience includes a complete rodizio dinner & Thanksgiving traditional food!

This means you’ll get delicious roasted turkey with gravy (of course!), yummy stuffing, beautifully sweet mashed potato, tasty green bean casserole, classic cranberry sauce, and (last but not least) cornbread.

Their Thanksgiving special includes an exquisite 20 oz. Prime Rib Dinner, served with all the trimmings – including horseradish cream, red wine au jus, and fancy mashed potatoes.

Why do we love OTTO By POLPO? Let us count the ways!

First of all, their executive chef Bujar means that flavors are always top notch here. Secondly, the feels and tastes authentic. Thirdly? They have fresh produce being delivered in, everyday.

This place takes quality and tastes seriously, and it’s a great place for dining on Thanksgiving.

What would we order? Well we love their homemade pappardelle pasta with mushrooms and parmesan cheese.
