This place is one of those ‘ultimate’ examples of water parks in Florida! It has everything you’d expect, from big water slides, a lazy river, and plenty of play space for kids and toddlers.

There’s also ‘Dolphin Plunge’ – one of their most famous attractions, and perhaps one of the best rides out of all these water parks in Florida. During Dolphine Plunge you’ll glide past Commerson’s dolphins, as you ride the slide, before plunging into the pool below!

Buccaneer Bay, Weeki Wachee

Our next suggestion for water parks in Florida, is Buccaneer Bay. It’s located about 35 miles from Tampa (so a great options if you’re in that rough area).

Weeki Wachee Springs is where the Buccaneer Bay water park is located, and Weeki Wachee is famous in it’s own right! What makes it special? Well, it’s Florida’s only spring-fed family water park.

The Buccaneer Bay Water Park is an additional to the Weeki Wachee Springs attraction, but all together they provide such a fun water-themed day out. We actually recommend checking out the wild-side of Weeki Wachee (pictured above), not just the water park!

Also, if you’re kids are obsessed with mermaids, you NEED to check out the famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids. They’re so amazing, and make this one of the best water parks in Florida!

Discovery Cove

Discovery Cove in Orlando is our next idea for water parks in Florida. There’s so much to do in this Florida water park, not just the slides and rides.

For example, there are plenty of amazing animal encounters for children and adults, as well as a unique and fascinating snorkeling reef (where you can actually swim with real tropical fish and rays!). It’s something special, and something many other water parks in Florida don’t offer.

Adventure Island is next on our list of water parks in Florida. It’s another SeaWorld-operated park, and you’ll find it located close to Tampa.

So what can you expect to find at Adventure Island? Well this place has 9 water slides (so plenty of choice and variety!).

The most famous ride (and one of the most popular is Riptide, a huge 4-lane slide where you can race friends (or strangers) to the bottom. It’s great fun and one of the reasons this is one of our top water parks in Florida.

Macdonald Water Park, near Miami

Next on our list of water parks in Florida, it’s a slightly smaller park option. Macdonald Water Park is located near Miami, and it’s set in a wonderful area of natural wildlife and natural beauty!

There are 17-acres to explore in the nature park itself, and there’s so much on offer, especially for a smaller park choice.

You’ll find great a wave pool, a pretty waterfall, the classic lazy river, and lots of kids’ play areas for younger and older children (such as a splash pad and water playground). Overall, this is a great choice for water parks in Florida, as it caters to so many age groups (and the price is VERY reasonable too).

Blizzard Beach

The theme for Blizzard Beach? A ski resort! Yes, this is a ski resort-themed water park. Sounds weird, doesn’t it? But it works, and it’s so much fun! The design team at Walt Disney World have outdone themselves here, it’s totally brilliant!

Why should you visit? Well aside from the wacky theme, this park is also home to Summit Plummet, one of the fastest and tallest body slides.. In the world! If that doesn’t make this one of the top water parks in Florida, we don’t know what does!

This park is actually jam-packed with rides (it has 20 rides and attractions!) and there’s something for everyone in the family.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Lake Buena Vista

Our next suggestion for water parks in Florida, is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon! One of the best reasons to visit this water park in Florida is the famous surfing lagoon. At 2.5 acres, it’s one of the biggest in the world! The waves can get up to six feet high, how crazy is that!?

There’s plenty more to see and do at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon though. You’ll find Shark Reef here, an amazing experience for people who want to get closer to marine life and try out snorkeling in a controlled environment.

Shark Reef is essentially a 362-gallon saltwater underwater reef environment, and guests to the water park can actually get inside and swim and snorkel with the marine life. Including sharks!

Venetian Pool, Miami

Venetian Pool in Miami is our next suggestion for water parks in Florida. Now, this isn’t a traditional choice for water parks in Florida, but it’s a really interesting and beautiful location, that we wanted to include in our list of water parks in Florida.

The Venetian Pool in Miami is one of the most famous swimming holes in Miami, and it’s a stunning low-key water park, that was created in the 1920’s from some naturally occurring rock formations.

The beautiful pool is surrounded by palm trees, and feels like a sophisticated and beautiful water park for adults (although all ages are welcome).

If you looking to escape the heat, but you’re not really bothered about the rides at water parks in Florida, then this is a fantastic and more relaxed alternative to a lot of the water parks in Florida on this list.


Grapeland Water Park

And finally on our list of water parks in Florida, it’s Grapeland Water Park in Miami. This is a smaller water park in Florida, but a great choice for those located in Miami or nearby.

This water park in Florida is actually operated by the city of Miami, and it has a classic lazy river ride, a selection of playgrounds and a shipwreck playground area.
