Cannon Beach

Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center
Whilst this wonderful place isn’t technically in Key Largo, it’s worth mentioning on our list of things to do in Key Largo, because it’s only a minute’s drive across the areas city lines!
If you’re looking for amazing things to do in Key Largo, FL that will also educate you, then be sure to check out the Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center.
Unless you’re a wild bird fanatic, you probably don’t know a whole lot about the species on display at this center. With pelicans, owls, vultures, and hawks among the birds that you may see here, we feel this is one of the best things to do In Key Largo, FL for anyone with an innate interest in unusual wildlife.
The most wonderful thing about this spot is the fact that all birds are rehabilitated and released back into the wild. Of course, some are unable to head back out there.
However, these birds are given a wonderful life in the sanctuary and want for nothing. It’s a truly unforgettable place, so we highly recommend checking it out during your visit to Key Largo.

The Key Lime Cafe

This place isn’t glamorous, but it’s charming and fun, and has a lovely local atmosphere and vibe to it. We highly recommend adding it to your own list of things to do in Key Largo during your trip!
Rent a boat
Next on our list of things to do in Key Largo, FL, it’s renting a boat! If you fancy a day out on the water, then this is a perfect choice for things to do in Key Largo!
The ocean around Key Largo is absolutely beautiful, and it’s an amazing coastline to explore and enjoy, and doing that via boat is perfect!
There are quite a few boat rental places in Key largo (because it’s such a popular activity here). But we do recommend booking ahead if you’ve got your heart set on hiring a boat! Especially during peak season.
Snorkelling
Snorkelling is our next suggestion for things to do in Key Largo. There are loads of wonderful places for snorkelling in Key largo, and it’s a great activity to try if you’re not into scuba diving, or don’t have the budget for scuba diving yet.
You can do snorkelling tours with local companies, or (if you’re confident) you can head out snorkelling yourself from local beaches. It’s a perfect choice for things to do in Key Largo, FL, and there’s so much to see!
Lazy Lobster Seafood Restaurant
Now, we couldn’t write a list of things to do in Key Largo, without mentioning one of the BEST local seafood restaurants. Seafood doesn’t get fresher than having it here – so you absolutely need to stop off at the Lazy Lobster Seafood Restaurant, especially if seafood is your kind of thing!
Everglades National Park
Next on our list of things to do in Key Largo FL, it’s the Everglades National Park. A trip to Key Largo isn’t complete without a visit to the famous Everglades National Park.
This massive wetland spans several of Florida’s cities, and it’s home to alligators, swamps, and mangroves. Whilst it’s not in Key lago, there are plenty of tours that depart from Key Largo.

Active folks who are looking for the best things to do in Key Largo, FL will absolutely love the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail. This awesome site features 76 miles of trails.
Yep, you read that right – 76 miles! That’s plenty of room to hike, bike, skate, and explore to your heart’s content. Not only is this one of the best things to do in Key Largo, FL for active individuals, but it’s also a lovely natural recreational spot that’s perfect for photos.
If you’re traveling with kids, we highly recommend bringing a couple of energy bars and some juice boxes along. The trails are tiring, and little ones tend to lose patience. However, most tykes will deal well with the trails if you keep things interesting! Get creative and encourage wildlife spotting and a game of I-Spy!
